Last updated: September 16, 2025sudoTip is designed to work on your device. We don’t run servers, we don’t require an account, and we don’t sell or share your data. What we collectWe do not collect, transmit, or sell personal data.
All content you create in the app—saved entries, places, receipt photos, and PDFs—stays locally on your device. If your device uses iCloud (or another system backup), an encrypted copy of app data may be included in your device backups. That is controlled by your OS settings.Optional permissions (you’re in control)sudoTip asks for access only when you use a related feature. You can change permissions anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.Location (While Using the App): Used to prefill the “Place” field when saving an entry. Not required; you can enter the place manually. We do not track or store a location history.Camera: Used to take receipt photos to attach to entries. Photos are stored on your device.Photos (Library): Used to select existing receipt images. Read-only access; images remain on your device.Notifications, Contacts, Microphone: Not used. How your data is usedAll calculations (tips, splits, rounding, expense mode) run on device.Saved entries (totals, per-person amounts, extras), places, and receipt photos remain local unless you choose to share or export. When you use the system Share Sheet or PDF export, you pick the destination (e.g., Messages, Mail, Files). At that point, the destination app/service’s privacy policy applies.Third-party servicesWe do not use analytics SDKs, ad trackers, or external databases. If you’ve opted in at the OS level to share diagnostics with developers, Apple may send us aggregated crash logs. These do not include personally identifying information and are used only to improve stability.Data retention & deletionYour data stays on your device until you delete it.You can delete individual entries (and attached receipts) from the app’s history. You can remove all app data by deleting the app. (Backups you control—like iCloud device backups—may retain encrypted copies until those backups are replaced or deleted.)SecurityWe rely on iOS security features and local device protections. Because we don’t transmit data to our servers, there is no server-side storage to secure.Children’s privacysudoTip is a general-audience app and does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. If a child shares information via export to another app or service, that provider’s policy applies.International users & rightsBecause we don’t collect or store data off-device, most privacy rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) can be exercised directly on your device. If you need help, contact us and we’ll assist.Changes to this policyIf we make material changes, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date.
